Christmas present for 6 year old...would have been good if volume control. Can barely hear message ?I bought this play phone for my daughters. We had purchased one before at a store and my girls loved it so much that they fought over it constantly. I broke down and purchased this one. I kids love playing with it. It has a touch screen for them to press on. The phone rings, makes different sounds and has a few prerecorded sayings. You are able to voice record one saying of your own, using the bottons on the side of the phone. Overall it's a decent play phone. The one thing that upset me about the phone is that it is very quiet. No matter what function you are using on the phone everything sounds like a whisper. So, although everything works on the phone the volume is disappointing. It has been like that from day one. If we need to replace it, I think I will be going back to the store I originally bought the first phone.My daughter loves this phone. I like how it "talks back" to you and rings on its own. The music button on the side is a particular favorite of my daughters and the songs are not annoying like you'd typically find on children's toys. The volume is a bit soft and the record a sound button is even softer (almost inaudible), but I'm not complaining much as other toys she has are ridiculously loud - I like to err on the side of somewhat quieter.My son absolutely loves this phone. We now have two of them as my son dropped the first one so many times that it sometimes does not come on even after replacing the batteries. I think that's just the cost of a rough little boy, not a defect of the toy itself. I love the recording option on the phone as well and my son loves to hear the messages that his mama or dada have left for him. This is also practical for on the go. I take this with me every time I go grocery shopping with my son as it keeps him occupied. I am very pleased with this purchase.We bought this for our 2 year old nephew. He likes to get his mom's phone and pretend he is talking. He likes this little phone because we can record something and the phone will call him with the message. It would be nice if the recording time were longer. Also, once you hit the record button again, the previous message is gone, so this will not hold a permanent message.My son loves his phone and grabs it before he leaves the house on car rides. The only complaint is that the record your own message option is very quiet when played back and hard to hear. He likes the call back feature and pretends to answer the call.Well thought-out. But while my husband and I are glad that it's not obnoxiously loud, it verges on being too soft - when we go out you cannot hear the toy against background noise. My 2.5yo son likes it but not as much as similar Leapfrog gadgets.It didn't take long for my 15 month old to know the function of each button. She especially liked to "rock" with the music! The volume isn't overwhelming like some toys, and the message recording was good. Having a strap made it easier to carry than some other chunky toys. A very nice play phone.Hands down one of the best toys in the house. My 15 month old has been playing with this phone for maybe 8-9 months now, he really did stop going after my phone in a while. We avoid noisy toys as the sounds are usually so obnoxious but the sounds on this phone are actually quite sweet and in fact the three of us rock it out to the five music tunes when the little one presses the music button. B is the best. This will be a hit with any small kid, other kids that visit always go after this toy. Oh, and you can record a message for your little one this phone, too.Such a shame this falls short of being a good toy. The main selling feature is being able to record your voice, but the recording is poor quality and it only stores one recording. Also the phone rings and naturally my child wants to hear somebody say hello at the end of it - instead there's silence. Just lacking some thought. For the price it should be better.It is a phone for a child he loved it and good value for money.Bought this on a deal. Great little phone for toddlers.batteries were dead and sound level is poor, wish i hadn't bought it
